Josh developed a passion for research as a student at NUNM. His graduate thesis focused on combining laboratory investigation with a pilot clinical trial assessing the effects of an herbal formula. He also worked with a team of researchers at Yale University and NUNM to investigate student attitudes and education surrounding vaccination at four naturopathic medical schools. During residency, he held a post-doctoral research fellowship at Helfgott Research Institute, in which he participated in several studies as an investigator and author, including clinical trials focused on both naturopathic and Chinese medicine diagnostic and treatment modalities. He recently collaborated with researchers at Oregon Health and Science University to develop, execute, and publish a study investigating allopathic and naturopathic approaches to atopic dermatitis. He has coauthored numerous peer-reviewed papers and presentations and currently serves on NUNM’s Institutional Review Board.

Josh seeks to improve the quality, access, and practice of integrative medicine in his clinical, academic, and research work. He brings this passion to Whole Systems Healthcare, where he serves as Research Director, leading a team of dedicated professionals in advancing the science and practice of integrative medicine.
