Dr. Katyna TruVal, MPH, ND is a licensed Naturopathic Physician who provides personalized, integrative, and holistic primary care for all ages and genders. She is committed to listening and seeing patients as a whole person made up of their own unique mind, body, and story – past present and future. She investigates thoroughly to get to the bottom of what is causing patients’ symptoms. She provides options and explanations to help patients choose the best fitting treatment for their goals, lifestyle, and resources. Most importantly, she is an advocate for patients and the wellness she believes they deserve, in a complicated and flawed healthcare system.
Dr. Kat treats patients struggling with women’s health issues, digestive issues, hormones dysfunctions, mood/mental health concerns, fatigue, weight management, pain, sexual dysfunction, chronic illnesses, acute illnesses, and adjunctive pre-natal care and infertility.
Dr. Kat completed her bachelor’s degree in Geography/International Development at Oregon State University, while also working as a certified personal trainer and health coach. She then completed her Master’s in Public Health degree at Oregon State University and went on to work in public health at many different levels: as the Accreditation and Strategic Plan Coordinator at Yamhill County Public Health, as a Clinic Administrator for a primary care clinic and School-Based Health Center, and as a Senior Science Writer/Publishing Coordinator for Bulletproof Executive Wellness Optimization Company. Working at all these varying levels and perspectives of health/healthcare, led Dr. Kat to the realization that she wanted to become a Naturopathic Doctor in hopes of helping people on the individual level, as well as help create a better healthcare system.
During and after medical school, Dr. Kat sought out additional experience and training in women’s health, gynecology, bio-identical hormone therapy for both men and women, midwifery, pediatrics, and aesthetic medicine.
Outside of being a doctor, Dr. Kat loves spending her time outdoors with her beloved husband, two young children and a baby on the way. Her and her family love weight lifting, camping, adventuring, painting, listening to podcasts, and lounging in hammocks.
