Dr. Craig Mehrmann

Biography

Dr. Craig Mehrmann holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) and graduate certificates in Humanitarian Health and Health Finance and Management from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and a Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine (ND) from the National University of Natural Medicine. He earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in psychology, neuroscience track, with a minor in philosophy from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where he received a competitive research scholarship from Baystate Medical Center and Tufts University School of Medicine to study the neurobiology of stress and disease. After graduating, he dedicated a full year to the practice and study of intensive insight meditation in the United States and Burma, followed by two years working as a psychiatric counselor at Baystate Medical Center. During this time, Dr. Mehrmann researched the neurobiology of meditation and its applications in psychiatric healthcare as an affiliate of Massachusetts General Hospital.

Dr. Mehrmann spent three years as a board member of the Naturopathic Medical Student Association (NMSA), a 501(c)3 dedicated to supporting and advocating for over 2,600 naturopathic medical students at CNME-accredited institutions throughout North America, finishing his tenure as President on the North American board. Dr. Mehrmann serves as the founder and Executive Director of Whole Systems Healthcare, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to developing the first integrative healthcare system. Dr. Mehrmann also serves in the Oregon Army National Guard as a Medical Service Corps Officer in the 41st Infantry Brigade Combat Team.
