I received weekly shiatsu from Kye for over four years as well as acupuncture and herbal/homeopathy treatment for two years. Kye's consistent, knowledgeable, holistic treatment, changed my health and my life. He relieved all my asthma and sinus symptoms, completely resolved an old traumatic neck injury, as well as boosted my immune system, which enabled my body to heal quickly. Kye has a vast understanding and knowledge of both naturopathic and Chinese medicine and uses patience in his approach along with his many tools and resources to find the source of disease and trauma in the body and body systems. The shiatsu, acupuncture and herbal/homeopathy treatments used life energy or qi to open up meridians and energy channels in my body for complete physical, emotional and spiritual healing. For example I had a traumatic neck injury over 30 years ago and I continued to have tightness and some pain and stiffness when I would turn my head. After one acupuncture treatment with Kye, I am now able to turn my head with ease, pain free with no stiffness. On an emotional and spiritual level I feel a peace and clarity that continues to this day. Dr Nevarez is very skilled and has a wide range of knowledge he pulls from in coming up with treatment plans. The clinic director and acupuncturist, Aleina, is helpful with scheduling and a pleasure to work with. She has been my acupuncturist for a few years now and helped me recover faster than expected from a car accident (MVA), and helped my wrist pain go away with one treatment. I like to see her for a monthly check-up. The clinic is nonprofit and has a bright, welcoming space. I have also had very pleasant interactions with the other practitioners and would feel confident in expanding my fields of care at WSHC as necessary.

Not only did she perform my Maya Abdominal Massage but she always answered all my questions engaging in deep and meaningful conversations. Just wanted to say a special thanks to Dr. Donald Spears. He absolutely changed my life! After struggling with obesity, high blood pressure, and diabetes for well over a decade, I finally found answers as to why my body was doing what it was doing and what I could do to change it. I had lost 50 lbs on two different occasions only to gain it all back. My naturopathic doctor, Donald Spears, gave me a plan of how to improve my overall health. It was a miracle and not in a bottle of medicine. At one time I weighed 260 lbs. Today I weigh 183 lbs. My blood pressure was 120/80 and my blood sugar was 111 today! I had hit a wall and Dr. Spears gave me answers that I just didn't have. I highly recommend him to everyone and anyone who wants to improve their health.

I started seeing Dr. Spears in May because of an injury to my left Achille’s Tendon. I saw him a number of times until he left to start his practice in Colorado. After the initial visit we began to work on other issues as well; such as psoriasis, neck pain, stress, and GI issues. At each visit he was attentive and gentle, included me in the treatment, and gave me ideas of things I could do to extend the benefits until the next time we worked together. To be able to go back and see when his appointments were all I have to do is look at my daily blood pressure log – it is significantly lower the day after a treatment! In his quiet and confident way, Dr. Donald Spears is absolutely one of the best acupuncturists I have worked with and I consider myself lucky to have been able to have this amazing experience. His future patients are truly fortunate. I miss his peaceful presence at NUNM.

I saw Dr. Spears for neck pain due to an injury, then again to address chronic digestive issues. He really took time to listen and to ask questions, and I felt safe in his capable care. Kye is amazing! I suffer from Carpal Tunnel Syndrome for over 2 years. I had a big project last week so I was on the computer for a bit longer than usual. By the end of the week, both my wrists are inflamed, swollen, and I was in so much pain that I couldn't even sleep. I had Acupuncture treatments in the past and during the first visit, the Acupuncturists would usually promote their treatment plan packages. This is not the case for Kye! He was only interested in learning more about my health and what he can possibly do to help me feel better! Kye invests a lot of time listening to my pulse while providing the proper treatments based on the information that he learned. He shared a lot of tips on what I can possibly do to improve my overall health and what the messages from my pulse and acupunctural points suggest. My swelling went down significantly after one treatment. Highly recommend!
