Biography

My Approach

My life journey has shaped the way that I practice and the way that I meet every human. Your life experience, genetics, environment, and choices shape you, and your path to healing and wellness is as unique as you are. My approach to acupuncture is eclectic, gentle, and continually evolving. I integrate craniosacral therapy, myofascial release, and various tools that nourish and relax the nervous system. My belief is one that there is a bridge between ancient healing traditions and conventional science. My art is fusing those into a treatment that meets the needs of your body, mind, and spirit.

About Me

I was born and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee, and earned my Bachelor of Arts at the University of Tennessee while competing as a springboard and platform diver. Academically, my focus was a pre-medical track with anthropology, psychology, and Eastern religious studies. Through the College Scholars program, I wrote a thesis exploring addiction recovery and the interconnectedness of body, mind, and spirit in the healing process. My time as a diver helped me gain a better understanding and respect for the mind-body connection and the role that nutrition, sleep, and stress can play in overall health.

My personal health journey and a desire to practice a prevention and wellness-focused approach to healthcare led me to the Pacific Northwest to pursue a doctorate in naturopathic medicine and a master's in acupuncture at the National University of Natural Medicine. While in school, my clinical rotations focused on adjunctive care for cancer and chronic disease, psychoneuroendocrinology, and a Japanese approach to acupuncture. I further studied Asian bodywork, craniosacral therapy, and myofascial therapy to integrate bodywork and healing touch into my treatment style. I returned home to East Tennessee in 2018 and am passionate about bringing holistic wellness to my community. I strive to bridge different ways of knowing to promote wellness and support the individual path to health and healing. My mission is to help redefine the paradigm of healthcare.
