Biography
Dr. Nevarez's Clinic Website
I have always been fascinated by the inner workings of nature. This curiosity has carried me to pursue a deeper understanding of the human body. My journey started with a Bachelor’s degree in General Biology with a focus in Human Physiology. After finishing my undergraduate degree, I decided to expand my knowledge to understanding health, disease, and the healing process.
As a Doctor of Naturopathic and Chinese Medicine, I see my job as working to identify the root cause of your problem. Asking and listening is an integral part of my approach. I will be interested in finding out about your life story and your overall health goals. Doing so helps me to find the most appropriate medicine to help you in your journey toward health.
In my own family and with my patients, I have seen a positive integration of the conventional and alternative medical systems, or “integrative medicine”. However, I have seen the limitations of both approaches. Through my clinical training in naturopathic medicine, I have learned how to see the body’s physiological function as an integrated whole. Each system of the body works in conjunction to manifest health, and when one of these systems becomes imbalanced, it can present in many different ways depending on the individual. Chinese medicine taught me that there is more to the body than its apparent material physiology, which helps me acknowledge and remain open to the fact that medicine still has much to learn about the body, both in terms of its structure and function. Chinese medicine helps me bridge the worlds of mind, body, and spirit through a detailed and systematic model of diagnosis and treatment. In summary, I work to optimize your health and help you meet your goals through my extensive training in a number of medical systems oriented toward restoring health, preventing disease, and promoting wellness.
