About Me:

Dr. Mallory's Clinic Website

I was raised in Northern Michigan, where early on, I envisioned a future in medicine, inspired by my parents who were both in the medical field. I pursued an undergraduate degree in Biology with a pre-med focus at Northern Michigan University. My college years marked the beginning of my shift toward a more natural lifestyle, as I spent my free time exploring nature and working at the local food co-op. During a volunteer event, I met a naturopathic doctor who introduced me to an alternative branch of medicine that was completely new to me. This meeting was pivotal; it inspired me to write a thesis on naturopathic medicine in the US and led me to reconsider my career path. Ultimately, I decided to follow this new direction and enrolled at the National University of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon. My time in medical school was intertwined with managing my own chronic health issues, which taught me the importance of balancing natural and conventional medicine. These experiences enriched my understanding and greatly influenced my approach to care.

Today, I am committed to supporting my patients' autonomy and their right to choose their treatment path. I believe it’s my role to provide each patient with an individualized set of options, allowing them to actively participate and select the methods that work best for them. My approach is built upon:

     1. Prioritizing foundational health practices that promote well-being at every age
     2. Utilizing evidence-based laboratory testing to identify the actual causes of symptoms and tailor treatment plans effectively
     3. Designing treatment strategies that incorporate high-quality nutritional supplements, physical medicine, mental health support
     4. Chinese medicine, while integrating conventional treatments when warranted.

I strive to advocate for a balanced approach to health, placing the patient at the center of every decision.

As a practitioner with dual degrees in naturopathy and Chinese medicine, I integrate both disciplines in every consultation to offer a comprehensive approach to health. My extensive experience spans thyroid disorders, autoimmune conditions, digestive health, mental wellness, and women’s health and fertility. I also specialize in Five Element acupuncture, which enhances treatments with moxibustion and leverages the unique spirit of each acupuncture point.

My goal is to provide personalized, supportive care that not only manages symptoms but also addresses and resolves underlying health issues, with a long-term focus on your well-being and longevity. I understand that you are the foremost expert on your body. Consider me your partner in health—here to remove obstacles, offer support, and help you build the robust health you desire and deserve.

What It's Like to Work with Me

From our very first visit, my priority is to provide a thorough and personalized approach to your health. Our initial intake session is 90 minutes, during which we’ll delve into not just your primary concerns, but also your health history, diet, lifestyle, and a full-body assessment. This comprehensive approach allows us to form a complete picture of your health and well-being.

After the initial consultation, you’ll receive a tailored plan that may include lifestyle recommendations to implement right away, suggestions for specific labs, nutritional supplements, and additional therapeutic modalities like massage, acupuncture, cupping, counseling, or skin care treatments.

In some cases, I’ll recommend lab work to gather more specific insights. These could involve blood tests at a local lab or specialty kits sent directly to your home. Every lab review is a scheduled hour-long appointment, during which I’ll thoroughly explain the findings to ensure you understand your results. From there, we’ll build a comprehensive treatment plan based on those insights.

Follow-up appointments are customized based on your needs. They offer a chance for us to check in on any current concerns, revisit health goals, and address any other issues that may arise, ensuring a well-rounded, head-to-toe approach to treatment.

For Acupuncture Patients:

Acupuncture and physical medicine can play a significant role in your health journey. Based on your condition, I typically recommend at least 6-10 acupuncture sessions to see meaningful benefits. We may start with more frequent sessions, then gradually space them out as you progress, creating a sustainable treatment rhythm that supports your healing and health goals.

For All Patients:

My ultimate goal is to support you in achieving lasting health in a sustainable way. Together, we’ll focus on evidence-based practices and uncover the root causes of any concerns, helping you reach your health goals with intention. While our visits may be closer together at the beginning, the long-term aim is to get to a place where we only need to meet 2-6 times a year for maintenance.

I’m here to support your health journey by meeting you where you are and finding treatment options that align with your life and values. I look forward to being your partner in health.
