Dr. Drew's Clinic Website

Jonathan Drew, MD, DTMH has always been interested in how the world works. From a young age he has always loved to work with his hands. He is an athlete, playing soccer and tennis among other sports through college. He earned a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from North Carolina State University, intending to pursue a path in medicine. After a few years traveling the world and discovering an aptitude for languages, Jonathan discovered a passion for helping the underserved and for culturally appropriate care. His initial interest in medicine broadened from an engineering perspective to one encompassing the whole person: body, mind, and spirit.

Continuing his pursuit through the allopathic route, Jonathan completed his MD abroad through Ben Gurion University at the Medical School for International Health, a novel program combining the allopathic training model with cultural competency and international health. He returned to the US to complete his residency in Emergency Medicine. During residency training, Jonathan spent a rotation training residents and learning culturally appropriate care at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi, Ghana. He also authored a paper exploring low resource methods for training personnel in epidemic response. Jonathan then took this training into the field and responded to humanitarian emergencies with Doctors without Borders in the Central African Republic and with the Diné people in the Southwestern US.

Through his training and experience Jonathan has developed a broader understanding of health, wellness, and the patient’s place in the treatment relationship. This led him to pursue a Fellowship with one of his inspirations, Dr. Andrew Weil, through the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine.

In Jonathan’s medical practice, he believes in an integrated model of health and wellness. He brings his background in movement as a Level 2 MovNat trainer and his deepening spirituality through many years of Zen meditation practice to create collaborative healing relationships. He believes in empowering you with knowledge and accessible practices to create the experience of life that you desire. Believing that movement is life, every visit will include natural movement tailored to your level of mobility. Through the collaborative relationship he can explore dietary, behavioral, and supplement/botanical modalities to help you move towards wholeness. He specializes in sleep, inflammation, chronic pain, and mental health. He brings extensive experience and knowledge of psychedelic treatment modalities in combination with a holistic model of wellness to empower you to unlock your true potential.
