Whole Systems Healthcare Clinics Are Expanding

We are pleased to announce several clinic expansions that will increase access to holistic medicine and wellness services in Seattle, WA, Portland, OR, and Boulder, CO!

About Whole Systems Healthcare

Whole Systems Healthcare is the first nonprofit multidisciplinary holistic healthcare system. Our mission and vision is to research, educate, and teach collaborative health care in service to the whole person: body, mind, spirit, and community, in order to establish a thriving integrative healthcare system built in the vision of holistic medicine clinicians, researchers, educators, and the communities they serve. The field of holistic health and wellness is relatively undeveloped and lacks business infrastructure for holistic medical professionals and researchers. Our work includes providing terminal-degree holding holistic medicine professionals with viable post-graduate educational and employment opportunities that are eligible for public service loan forgiveness, while contributing meaningfully to the credibility, modeling, and research basis of integrative medicine as a whole. In doing so, our aim is to increase access to the highest quality holistic health care for patients seeking services oriented toward health restoration, disease prevention, and wellness promotion. Through a bootstrap, revenue-focus business model, we have been successful in opening six holistic health medical clinics in five states since January 2019 servicing over 1,000 patients, and are currently in the process of opening four more clinics.  We are also developing education and research programs to include online lay health and wellness resources as well as medical internships, preceptorships, and physician residencies.

Seattle, Washington

Dr. Kye Peven, ND, DSOM, EAMP
Seattle Clinic Director

Our Seattle, Washington clinic, led by Clinic Director, Dr. Kye Peven, has recently moved and is now actively seeing patients in the new location. The new location is spacious and beautiful, located in the Wallingford neighborhood of Seattle, directly across from Gasworks Park on the north side of Lake Union. Situated on the top floor with large south facing windows, the space has a lovely view and lots of natural light, important particularly in the winter months as Seattle can be dark and gray.

With a reception area, office, and two treatment rooms, the clinic will be able to offer significantly expanded health services. Due to the larger space available, acupuncture is now provided in a more community-oriented setting, with multiple people being treated in the same room. One advantage of this approach is that patients can stay as long as necessary and do not need to leave when the next person arrives. Another, more significant benefit is the healing field that develops from multiple people receiving treatment together, which can increase and intensify the impact of treatment on a single person.

The clinic is actively looking for additional practitioners who are interested in joining a nonprofit, integrative, holistically minded clinic, and in the coming months hopes to be offering additional modalities depending on the nature of these new practitioners.

The Seattle Clinic will be hosting an open house on Sunday September 11, 12-6pm in the new location at 3301 Burke Ave N, Suite 360, Seattle, WA 98103. Directions and Parking: the building is on the corner of Burke Ave N and N Northlake Way, directly across from the Gasworks Park parking lot. The front entrance is on the uphill side of the building which can be reached by walking uphill through the parking lot for the building. Please do not park in this lot, as it is reserved for tenants only; there is typically plenty of free street parking all around, and you can also park in the Gasworks lot.

The new location will be significantly larger, growing from two to seven treatment rooms to include a group treatment space, lab, kitchenette and break area for staff, and large reception and admin rooms. In the months to come, services provided by our Portland clinic will expand to include full scope holistic primary care, increased capacity for East Asian Medicine and acupuncture, increased capacity for ketamine assisted therapy, as well as psychotherapy, occupational therapy, massage therapy, chiropractic, and aesthetic medicine.

The clinic is in the process of recruiting new team members to join the thriving practice. Ideal candidates are self-motivated professionals who are passionate about increasing access to the highest quality holistic health care for the Portland community.
